Lulzim Basha is known as the man who closed the lists and put the "broom" to anyone who was against him in the Democratic Party.

He did this in 2017 and continues to do it today, as he excluded one by one all those who think differently.

But this man of closed lists, who conducts elections only with his people and appoints without votes, has contradicted himself.

This Wednesday, Basha presented his proposals for the Electoral Reform, where one of the points was the opening of the lists.

"In the name of this common political will, we extend our hand today to every political and social factor to put aside narrow agendas, personal interests and join in an electoral reform that gives Albanian citizens a democracy of the European standard.

Basha's proposals:

1. Open lists
Voters have the opportunity to choose the deputy themselves, not the mayor

2. Vetting for politicians
Cleaning politics from the corrupt and people with criminal connections

3. Equality of vote
The number of voters per deputy mandate should be the same throughout the country

4. Diaspora vote
Albanians living abroad should be able to vote in elections from where they live

5. President from the people
The president should be elected directly by the people

6. End of immunity from criminal prosecution
No immunity for parliamentarians and governors who are investigated by SPAK./ CNA
