Changes in the Youth Law/ Minister: Mechanisms for participation in politics are

The Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, today presented changes to the law "On Youth". Muzhaqi said that the changes will occur in six aspects such as the participation of young people in policymaking or the mechanisms that ensure their inclusion.

" From all the consultations and the review of the law, the points that needed to be changed and further improved are in six aspects: Strengthening legal mechanisms that guarantee the participation of young people in policy-making and decision-making processes at the local and central levels; strengthening mechanisms that ensure the inclusion of Albanian youth; providing legal mechanisms for the implementation of new policies and the support and activation of young people, as well as strengthening legal mechanisms for setting standards and increasing quality in youth services ," said Muzhaqi.

The minister said that the councils in the ministry and municipalities will be run together with young people. A proposal that came from the mayors and ministers, said Muzhaqi.

" Together with the minister or the mayors, the councils will be co-chaired by young people. This is a proposal that came from them themselves and was accepted as a change in the law ," the minister said./ CNA
