Helidon Bushati has today expressed his choice not to participate in the Democratic Party primaries process.

Bushati, in a reaction on social media, said that he has also given up his aspirations to be a member of parliament.

According to Bushati, now is the time for personal, but also party, reflection, and he qualifies this decision as an act of political and moral responsibility.

"The Democratic Party is facing great challenges. This political force managed to overcome difficult moments that put it to the test of existence. Today, the Democrats are united and are getting ready for the vital elections for the country, those of May 11th.

In addition to engagement, it is also a time for reflection. Soon, the Democratic Party will enter an important process, that of the primaries.

Personally, I have chosen not to participate in the primaries and as a result I am giving up my aspirations to be a candidate for MP. This is not simply a personal decision, it is an act of political and moral responsibility.

However, this decision does not mean a retreat from our common journey. On the contrary, I will be where I have always been, close to the Democratic Party and the Democrats.

Coherent in my beliefs, unwavering in the values ??we have fought for, and fully committed to the resurgence and victory we all aim for the Democratic Party and its leader Sali Berisha.

I am convinced, more than ever, that MODERNIZATION and UNIFICATION are the keys to victory. We owe it to our children, we owe it to history!
