Waste water sewers/ Balluku: The investment will start from the tourist areas
The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku

The sewage of urban wastewater will be brought to the attention of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, announced that the sewers were put on the back burner due to the construction of water pipes, but will now be treated as a priority.

She said that the ministry has launched a real analysis of the entire Albanian territory for sewers, while emphasizing that the investment will start from the tourist areas and then continue throughout Albania.

"All the amortized water pipes, all the networks built 60 years ago, which have no compatibility today with the demand, are also accompanied by another deficiency related to the sewage of urban wastewater, which due to the priority that has been given to waterworks, the construction of waterworks, the distribution of drinking water, have been a little more restrained in terms of investments.

Today, on the other hand, we have come to a point where even the sewers are as important as the distribution of drinking water and they need extraordinary attention. And for this reason, we have started a real analysis of the entire Albanian territory, where, in addition to identifying the problems and solutions that we must provide in the future, we have also made an accurate cost of the investments that must take place in terms of investments from Vermoshi in Konispol. But we will give priority to the areas that have economic development, which are the touristic areas, and then continue with all the other areas", said Balluku.

The deputy prime minister made this statement at the joint press conference with the German ambassador in Tirana, Karl Bergner, with whom he signed the agreement "Municipal infrastructure program V, the second part", which focuses on the improvement of water supply systems. drinking water, sewerage of used water and their treatment in some municipalities of the country./ CNA
