Jozefina Topalli: The diaspora vote is an electoral factor that changes

The DP's political leader for the Diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, in a television appearance, assessed the importance of the diaspora vote in the electoral process, describing it as a factor that can bring about major changes.

Topalli said that meeting with the Diaspora has been one of the most special experiences for him, underlining the extraordinary contribution that Albanian emigrants have made to the country over the years.

"Albanians outside Albania have integrated better than any other community and have maintained a very strong connection with their homeland. In addition to the great economic contribution they have made, they now also have the opportunity to participate in a political process. The figures for the registration of the diaspora on the voter lists were surprising and show that they are now an electoral factor that can change everything," said Topalli.

She added that the diaspora should have its representatives in Albanian politics and emphasized that the DP has seven candidates dedicated to the diaspora.

"One of them is a very interesting girl in Tirana, born in Belgium, educated in London and returned to Albania in the last two years. She represents a new generation with a different vision," Topalli said.

According to Topalli, the inclusion of the diaspora in the political process is an important step to strengthen the connection between Albanians abroad and Albania. /CNA
