"I believe in meritocracy"/ Genci Shehaj: I will run on the open list

Genci Shehaj has announced that he will run on the open list of the Opportunity Party.

In a reaction on social media, Shehaj expressed that he believes in meritocracy and not in the connections and favors that have guided the old parties.

"I have decided to be part of the open list of the Opportunity Party, a newly born party, whose mission is to bring about real change in Albanian politics. I believe in meritocracy, a system where individuals are valued for their skills and commitment, not for the connections and favors that often guided the old parties."

Citizens are tired of the 2 old parties, which have dominated politics for many years and have failed to bring sustainable development and real opportunities for the Albanian people. The ruling party, after 3 mandates, has left behind poverty, depopulation and a lack of opportunities for young people, especially in the Korça Region.

For me, this is not a short race, but a marathon. My commitment is clear: I want to contribute and give everything to help strengthen the Opportunity Party and to offer a new and fair opportunity to citizens.

This is an important step to bring about a deep and real change, offering equal opportunities and honest, accountable and sustainable governance. Together we can restore Korça to its former glory. For a more developed and fairer Korça!”, writes Genci Shehaj./ CNA
