The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Tirana region, Belind Këlliçi, has reacted on social media after the Appeals Court's decision to leave Erion Veliaj in prison.

" Today the head of 5D and the de facto owner of the Tirana incinerator, Erion Veliaj remained in prison! Today is another day of liberation and breathing space from this unprecedented thief for our capital and beyond. Today is another day when the residents of Astir, the Kombinat area, the residents of 5 Maji, those of Myslym Keta, the protesters of the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater and all ordinary citizens who have fallen prey to his institutional violence and his leadership, breathe freely and feel retribution for the injustices suffered. Today the family of the late Ardit Gjoklaj feels relieved too!

I am here to tell you that tomorrow, for Albania, a new day will come. All SP candidates who dare to break the law and alienate the vote, all officials who abuse the power of the firm, those who buy votes and pave electoral asphalt, those officials who misuse public administration as private property, will share the common fate with Veliaj. Just like the corrupt officials already behind bars, they will join their cellmates.
