Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke at a joint conference with EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos.

During his speech, Rama said that Albania has no other alternative than EU integration.

" We are waiting for the Commissioner for Enlargement on her first visit in the rain. I explained to her that the rain is a blessing and I am convinced that it will be a good omen for the progress of the new growth plan and the disbursement of additional funds for Albania. It is a pleasure to welcome you here in Tirana and I want to reiterate that we in the region have enthusiastically awaited your election, because you are both EU, but also ours, being from a country in the region, which has excelled in its path and is today a member of the EU.

Having blood closer to us than to Brussels, I hope, I am convinced, I am extremely glad that we meet at a moment when we have reason to be proud of what we have done, we do not take your support as something given, but as something that must be received. It is the support of a large and demanding institution like the EU, which we are aware that we must deserve. We know that there is no other alternative , "said Rama./ CNA
