Fredi Beleri returns to Fier prison, now as an MEP. After the five-day leave that he used to take the oath as a member of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Beleri has returned to the cell to continue the remaining sentence. Beleri was accompanied by the opposition candidate for Himara Municipality, Petro Gjikuria.
After his return, he stated that all issues related to our motherland will be prioritized.
"My priorities are to learn the responsibilities of an MEP. I will deal with the illumination of the problems faced by the members of the Greek ethnic minority, but I also want to deal with all the issues related to our motherland", he emphasized.
Beleri was sentenced by the Special Court of Appeal to 2 years in prison for vote buying. Meanwhile, he is expected to gain freedom on October 19 of this year./CNA
