"I will take the matter to Strasbourg"/ Beleri for the Greek media: I
Fred Beller

Fredi Beleri, who is in Strasbourg to take his oath as MEP of "New Democracy" in the European Parliament, has told the Greek media that he will serve his sentence of two years in prison in Albania for vote buying. .

He has announced that the sentencing decision against him will lead to Strasbourg, thus warning of "a long judicial adventure".

"If they don't release me with 2/3 of the sentence, my sentence will end in mid-October. Of course, my judicial adventure will take years, because it will be finalized in Strasbourg. I will take it to the end, I believe that a great injustice has been done and we have before us a judicial marathon until the final decision is issued by the International Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg", said Beleri.

Regarding the Greek minority in Himara, he has stated that they will be his priority and that he will show the problems which he claims are facing the rule of law and the right to self-determination.

"Certainly it will be my priority to show the problems he faces in relation to the rule of law and the right to self-determination that is not respected in Albania. The results of the last census are anything but true. The data are falsified", he said to the Greek media.

Among other things, Beleri said that "with the opportunity I have in the European Parliament, I can turn the spotlight and highlight the problems faced by the Greek minority as well as the Albanian citizens throughout Europe".

Beler's leave ends on Saturday, July 20, after he was released from his cell for 5 days, in order to take his oath as an MEP./ CNA
