The sea issue with Greece/ Zhulali: Rama has provoked him several times, an

International affairs expert, llda Zhulali, commented today on the return of attention to the maritime issue with Greece, following today's meeting between Prime Minister Edi Rama and Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias.

Invited to "Syri TV", Zhulali said that Rama has provoked discussion of this issue several times over the years.

According to Zhulal, the prime minister has also used it as an alibi related to a possible veto by the neighboring state on integration.

Zhulali added that the reason behind Rama's stance has to do with other political issues in the country, as well as crime and corruption.

"He has provoked Greece several times, perhaps aiming for some kind of aggressive behavior by Greece in the EU that he could then use as an alibi. But in fact, Greece has never had a veto over Albania on political issues, including the sea issue, throughout all these years. So, since Rama does not have this, that alibi that says that we were blocked because of Greece, he tried to serve it as news in some media, but it did not work. Now he is bringing it back to attention, but we will see if the aim of bringing this issue back to attention is to lead it towards a real solution, or to use it once again as an alibi because of the problems he has with other political issues here, crime, corruption and others," said Zhulali. /CNA
