Dendias meets with Minister Nufi: We continue the close dialogue on defense and

Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, hosted his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, in a meeting today. 

The focus of this official visit was the strengthening of bilateral Albania-Greece cooperation and the continuation of close dialogue in the field of defense and security.  

"Albania's main objective in the region remains the advancement of political stability, security and sustainable economic development. For this reason, we are present with personnel in EUFOR ALTHEA in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in KFOR in Kosovo. Also, Albanian and Greek naval forces maintain excellent coordination and interoperability through missions in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, including NATO's Operation "Sea Guardian". Meanwhile, Albania is currently undertaking efforts to strengthen and modernize its naval fleet, which will further increase maritime security and the presence of the Allies in the Adriatic-Ionian region", said Nufi.

During the meeting, Nufi and Dendias assessed increased efforts for capacity development and military-industrial cooperation as key priorities for all NATO allies. /CNA
