The chairman of PBDNJ, Vangjel Dule, once again advocated for the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri.

He said on Ylli Rakip's show that Beleri was arrested only for the interests of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Dule claims that keeping Himara's elected mayor in jail is unfair.

"We have the reaction of the European Parliament, which says to release Beleri. We have the People's Parties, which say that he should be released. The laws of the Albanian state guarantee everyone the right to vote.

Justice must continue its process. No one is against justice, to speak his mind. In these conditions, there is a very important fact,

Mr. Beleri is presumed innocent, until we have a final decision. A person who is presumed innocent has the right to fulfill his obligations and have his rights respected.

There is no reason to prevent him from taking the oath. Where is there a law that prohibits him from swearing?

I dispute many aspects. Mr. Beleri was not arrested in flagrante delicto, but because that's what Edi Rama wanted. He was under surveillance for four days, with an order to establish the first compromising fact, but it did not work.
