"You should resign, man"/ Alimehmeti: Why Rama dismissed Veliaj in

Democratic Party (DP) Municipal Council member Ilir Alimehmeti spoke about the early elections in the Municipality of Tirana.

Invited to Kafe Shqeto, Alimehmeti spoke about Veliaj's dismissal, emphasizing that it takes a man to resign, but also emphasized that there is a backstory behind why Rama waited until September to dismiss him.

"Who is the backslider that I think. We have seen Edi Rama usurp every power in Albania.

He started taking control of the territories himself. He was removing the directors of the municipalities himself. It shows that he is the autocrat of Albania. He decides, he appoints. I don't understand why he makes elections.

The big question is why he was recalled in September. He knew that Erion Veliaj had been in prison since February. He knows the law that it is the prime minister who dismisses him for violating the law and the Constitution. It takes a man to resign.

Rama said, "You start the procedures for dismissal." Rama will still dismiss him, the Municipal Council will simply conclude that he has not shown up for work, which all of Albania knows.

Rama makes both the law and Maliqi. Margaret Thatcher said that socialists are afraid of free elections because the people would not choose them.

"We will stand by this work and put our morals before it, with an international arbitrator," said Alimehmeti./ CNA
