The deputy of Lulzim Basha, Flutura Açka, has left the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party.

The news was announced by Açka himself through a status on social networks.

Açka announces that he has also resigned from the leadership of the Parliamentary Committee for Education and Media.

She declares that she took this decision after the agreement in the Laws Commission on the changes in the Electoral Code.

The deputy of Basha emphasizes that she is facing pressures and that she is forced to no longer accept the unhealthy situation created by them.

Dear Mrs. Nikola

As you are aware, at the first meeting of this parliamentary session (in January of this year) of the Parliamentary Committee for Education and Public Media, which I have been leading since the fall of 2021, an unpleasant incident occurred with a group of colleagues from the Opposition, among them leaders of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party.

From that time, the secret and open attacks on my person did not stop, with all the forms and means and the cause itself: the different approaches of opposition political behavior.

Although in these unfair conditions, I have tried to fulfill my constitutional obligation in the smooth running of the work of the Parliamentary Commission that I lead.

Therefore, out of respect for every honest democrat I have known in my life and in obligation to the ideals for which the Democratic Party was founded at the turn of the 90's, I am obliged to no longer accept the unhealthy situation created by political pressures around me.

In my political relationship with the Democratic Party, I have been guided only by high principles and at the service of the opposition action, without affecting my personal freedom. Therefore:

So that I am no longer part of the alibi of the destruction of the Opposition, which was divided and torn apart before our eyes by characters with an insatiable political thirst;

Not to remain silent in the face of the undermining that is happening to Albanian democracy from the collaboration with the government and to the detriment of democratic and national interests, of a small opposition group with dubious political principles and morals;

To show clearly and uninfluenced to the democrats, voters and Albanians - who still believe in pure politics - my personal action as an opposition to our common political opponent, without being influenced by the spirit that has already captured the Parliamentary Group of the Party for years Democratic;

Not to remain silent in the face of intrigues and unprincipled machinations of certain persons in the Opposition, who, with their false battles, have often discredited the opposition action;

I declare from today:

- My resignation as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Education and Public Information Media.

- Leaving the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party.
