Denunciation - Rama's Ministers 27 Violations of the Electoral Code, CEC No

The DP Anti-Corruption Spokesperson, Genta Vangjeli, announced that 27 cases of violations of the Electoral Code by ministers of the Rama government have been reported and referred to the CEC.

In a statement to the media, Vangjeli emphasizes that no concrete measures have yet been taken by the CEC for violators of the Electoral Code, thus jeopardizing the smooth running of the electoral process and the security for a fair competition in the May 11 elections.

"Based on the data administered by the DP regarding our evidence related to administrative violations during the pre-election process so far, we inform you that:

So far, 27 cases have been reported to the Central Election Commission, which are related to violations committed by government cabinet officials such as Belinda Balluku, Ogerta Manastirliu, Blendi Gonxhe, or other officials representing central and local state institutions.

For these 27 complaint cases, the CEC has decided: Accepting them and initiating an administrative investigation for 16 cases; Not initiating an investigation for 6 cases; Discontinuing the investigation for 2 cases. For all cases for which an administrative investigation has been initiated, we have not yet taken any penal measures from the Central Election Commission.

The Democratic Party requests that the CEC take concrete measures for the identified violations and specific violators to prevent the carrying out of public activities prohibited according to the Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania, Decision No. 9/2020 of the Regulatory Commission, actions which do not ensure the smooth running of the electoral process and undermine the development of a fair and equal competition between the parties for the parliamentary elections of May 11", said Vangjeli./ CNA
