DP infrastructure projects/ Berisha: We will build the Tirana-Pristina railway

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, focused today on the country's infrastructure projects. At a press conference on Friday, Berisha stated that part of the DP's major projects is the construction of the Tirana-Pristina railway.

During his speech, Berisha said that this is an old idea that will make the bond of the nation even stronger.

Berisha added that besides the railway, the plan for the ring road connecting several of the country's cities will be one of the high-priority infrastructure projects in the DP's goals.

"The Tirana-Pristina railway is the most major project after the National Highway in Albania's infrastructure, connecting our two countries, but also making the Albanian coasts more important than all other seas.

This railway is an old idea, dating back to the Ottoman Empire in the 1880s when it brought the railway to Ferizaj. This railway was an idea of ??the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

This railway was brought back to the table in 2005-2013, this railway will be built during the next mandate.

It will be built. The nation will also have a strong, short rail connection.

Yes! The Albanian Ring Road will be another major infrastructure project.

Dear friends, in the years 2005-2007, in the implementation of this project, we built and reconstructed roads from Valbona to the Korça-Ersekë segment, which we started and built the first 18 kilometers.

This ring road would descend, go to Kolonjë, Leskovik, Përmet, Kardhiq, Delvinë. The coastal road, which was rebuilt, would return and follow the coast to reach Velipojë and go towards Hani i Hoti and Vermoshi.

In the old administrative division, this ring united two-thirds of the country's municipalities. This ring, all in the mountainous areas except for the coastal lowlands, made available all the great assets and tourist, agricultural, livestock, etc. potentials of two-thirds of Albania.

In other words, the ring road urbanizes the entire outskirts of Albania.

It makes it possible for every municipal center in the old division to be connected to national axes in 20 minutes.
