Bido: Institutions should have acted earlier to free up public spaces

The elected SP MP in the Vlora district, Ardit Bido, stated today that businesses are the first to benefit from occupying public spaces, but according to him, this should not be used as an excuse by them.

Invited to the 'Now' show with journalist Erla Mëhilli, Dredha said that institutions should have acted sooner on this issue.

"We must not forget that at the end of the day, both local and central government are at the service of citizens. As soon as we come from the campaign, we have heard the complaints of citizens from beginning to end. And they are right. What is happening is only a little, we will do much more. You could not walk, neither in Vlora, nor in Saranda, nor in other cities. An occupation of public spaces by businesses, who are trying to profit, was expanding, but this does not justify the situation. This is a problem accumulated over the years, and there comes a moment when it must end. Would it have been better if the institutions had acted earlier? Yes, I agree. But at the moment when this has happened to us, and citizens need intervention now, what should we do? Let it happen again?
