Berisha with journalists from the diaspora: Narco-dictatorships are not

In an interview with the Union of Professional Albanian Journalists of the Diaspora, the Leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated that narco-dictatorships are not overthrown by vote.

Berisha described the May 11 elections as an electoral farce.

The chief democrat emphasized that, although the opposition represents a just cause, it is powerless in the face of a regime he calls a "narco-state," which controls the judiciary, elections, and the media.

 "This, a question that is essential, unfortunately, we can say that the Opposition in the conditions of the narco-state is real in the cause it defends, but it is fictitious in the role it plays. Because, the narco-state, as the power of one person, supported by drug cartels, more powerful than any ministry, supported by electoral farces and the plunder of the budget and national assets.

Due to the strict control over the judiciary, in fact the Opposition and the few voices that remain in the media, have no regard for changing things.

So, I want to be realistic with you. The real strength of the Opposition is that it will mobilize citizens in a powerful popular movement to overthrow this regime.

Narco-dictatorships, Skënder, are not overthrown with votes, with electoral farces.

No, absolutely not!

On the contrary, today there are electoral results, such as the Fier district, where the diaspora vote reaches 92% for the government. All with a completely nationalized process.

However, the difficulty is extremely great, because during the period when the communist dictatorship existed, there were, of course, much greater difficulties for oppositionism, but on the other hand, there was a strong international stance towards them.

And, unfortunately, these narco-dictatorships are also lovable, they are quite lovely, if we use such terms.

For us, it's twice as difficult, because there has never been a narco-dictatorship in Europe. There have been every other form of dictatorship, but not a narco-dictatorship. And this, when it makes many Europeans skeptical of this qualification.
