The former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, has boasted in the Special Court, where he testified this Saturday regarding the abuse of EU funds while he was leading the State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination (SASPAC).

Beqaj said in front of the black toga that he has enough income that he can afford to spend on several cars.

He made this statement when he was asked about concealing the ownership of the moving vehicle.

"I always ride as a passenger because I don't have a license. I can use such a car without any problem with the income I have, I can afford not the expenses of this car but some of these with the income I have, I have no reason to hide it", he said.

When asked about the shares of the "Gzona" restaurant, the former minister described himself as a "customer of the highest order".

"When my wife joined "Gzona", it was lucky that a mutual friend was interested in cooperating in business. This is due to the fact that it was seen as an opportunity to offer high-quality customers because of the recognition", said Beqaj. / CNA
