Beleri does not get permission for the oath/ Dule "points the finger

The head of PBDNJ, Vangjel Dule, spoke to the media after the Court of Durrës declared incompetence for the request of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri.

Dule again accused Prime Minister Edi Rama, whom he said is keeping him in prison for political reasons. He claimed that there is no law that prohibits Beller from swearing.

"You see that the ball is thrown on the steps of the stadium instead of playing the legal game with norms and rules, competence and incompetence. I would say to everyone, take a look at the European Convention on Human Rights. A citizen who is presumed innocent, elected by the community of Himara to be the head of their municipality, how is he prevented from taking the oath?

There is no law that prevents him from swearing. This is a political decision. He is kept in prison by Prime Minister Rama. We must distinguish very carefully, anyone can be detained but not convicted", Dule stressed.

We remember that Fredi Beleri had asked to be given permission to take the oath as mayor of Himara, but the Court of Durrës declared incompetence.

This request is now expected to go to the Supreme Court for consideration./ CNA
