The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group and Political Leader of the Socialist Party for the Diaspora, Taulant Balla, expressed support for the draft law "On the Foreign Service in the Republic of Albania" during his speech at the Foreign Policy Committee, emphasizing the importance of strengthening Albanian diplomacy at a key moment for the country.

"Even as the leader of the majority group, I want to express our support for voting on this draft law, with the hope and expectation that it will positively impact the further strengthening of our diplomatic service," Balla said.

He underlined that Albania is in a new position in the international arena, a result of the achievements of recent years.

"Considering the challenges ahead, not only our expectation, now not just a dream, but a tangible reality to see the Skanderbeg flag waving in the courtyard of Brussels until November 28, 2030, but also the other challenges that come, including new challenges created as a signatory country of the Peace Board, but also next year's NATO summit in Albania, which is a culmination of intensive work where all those who have contributed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs undoubtedly have value," he said.

Focusing on the draft law, Balla said that legal changes must be accompanied by qualitative implementation.

"The law brings innovation, brings changes and sometimes laws can be very good, but what is important is the quality of implementation. So I have great confidence that this law will be implemented by you and by other ministry leaders, with rigor and with the desire to give our European Albania a diplomatic corps of European standards," Balla concluded./ CNA
