Shkëlqim Hajdari has officially taken office as Prefect of Tirana. Hajdari was appointed to this position on February 6, 2026, succeeding Afrim Qendron.
In his speech today as he officially took office, Hajdari said that his compass will be the law.
The Prefect of Tirana declared that the institution he will lead from today will be a bridge of cooperation with citizens.
Further, Hajdari said that this function will be the most beautiful for him and expressed that it will probably be his last.
" The law will be my only compass. The Prefectural Government will be a bridge of cooperation because citizens need institutions that speak up."
"I have been working for the Albanian state for over 35 years, but the function of prefect will be given to the most beautiful, the most beloved and the most dedicated, perhaps the last. For this reason, I want to perform it with dignity ," said Hajdari./CNA
