People's Advocate/Kalaja: Disappointed that the Democratic Party did not

Lawyer Adriana Kalaja spoke on a television appearance about the debate surrounding the election of the People's Advocate.

Kalaja expressed disappointment that the DP did not come up with a name and said that the Democratic parliamentary group still has time.

The lawyer said that it is unjustifiable that the DP says it does not bring a name that will overthrow Taulant Balla.

With this logic, said Kalaja, it is up to the PD to leave Parliament. The lawyer further said that she cannot ask for the SP's votes when she does not have the support of the Democrats.

 

" I am disappointed that the Democratic Party did not come up with a name for the People's Advocate, of course it did. I told Mr. Berisha that we came to the moment when the DP gave the signatures for the candidacies, not confusing the vote with the support to enter the race, for 8 names. I have offered myself in the race. Out of the eight people, one name should come out, because the DP has that many signatures. Whether we like it or not. Maybe Adriana Kalaja would not be the winner, it would be someone else. I respect the process. The DP parliamentary group still has time, until Thursday.

He must enter all the signatures he has given for the eight candidates, enter them into the race, decide the winner by political decision and send it to Taulant Balla and Edi Rama. The Democratic Party should not ask, this is an absolutely unacceptable complex. In fact, for me it is unnecessary to say "we are not running this because Taulant Balla is bringing us down". Then, let the DP leave the Parliament because Balla is bringing everything down. The Democratic Party should send its own candidate. They have until Thursday to do it by voting. The voting should be honest, secret. If I am not supported by the DP, I cannot ask for the votes of the Socialist Party ", added Kalaja./ CNA
