The Democratic Party has made a pact where it has accepted that in exchange for the recognition of the pro-party majority by Rama, it will sell the basic rights of the opposition.

From five months of radical protests in the assembly, where the firebrands were ignited and the whistles were blown, the DP was demanding, in addition to legitimate recognition as the opposition, the right for which the public has mandated, to control the staggering abuses of the government. In the name of this obligation, the united opposition insisted, since last October, on the establishment of eight investigative commissions for strategic investments, the robbery at the Port of Durrës, the charter trips of the prime minister, the leakage of TIMS system data, the McGonigal affair,110 million euros of Bechetti, concessionary contracts in health and decisions in conflict of interest.

By order of Edi Rama, who was directly involved in these issues, the commissions were never set up, escalating every parliamentary rule until then. Even at the end of December, the SP, with only its own votes, changed the law, turning the right of deputies to investigate into a farce that will be played behind closed doors from now on.

This Tuesday, the parties are sitting at the table to resolve these disputes, i.e. the recognition of the real PD and its right to control the executive.

But, if you stop for a moment here, you realize that from the beginning the negotiation was carried out in unequal positions. Because making an agreement means that each party gives up something of themselves, for the sake of compromise. But in this particular case, DP and SP sat in positions where the first, even if it took the maximum, won only what was due to it and the second, even if it released everything, did not give anything of itself. This is precisely why the opposition was condemned not to bargain like: give us this so we can forgive you this other. It was condemned to have three non-negotiable red lines: recognition as a party to the electoral reform, the establishment of eight investigative commissions and their functioning according to the unamended law.

However, she did the exact opposite: she negotiated the recognition of the Berishist group by Rama in exchange for handing over the case for the latter's investigation. The expulsion of the clowns of Basha, with the high price of sacrificing some commissions.

And when you see what happened, it is easy to come to the conclusion that the result of the pact is a defeat for the opposition. Indeed, she certified recognition as a party, indeed she managed to throw in the bin the two-year refrain of the majority that "we do not accept anything that comes from Saliu", indeed she is stripping "AliBasha" of the right of veto for the electoral reform, but all these, although they can be called small victories for the opposition bureaucrats, have no significance for the anti-Rama majority.

If a large part of the public was convinced that PD belonged to Berisha as the most voted among the democrats, it supported his action, not because of the doctor's beautiful eyes, nor because of nostalgia for the historical leader, but with the conviction that only a real opposition can put a stop to Rama's abuses. The autocratic prime minister supported fake opponents just so they wouldn't open their doors to him, but he has no problem if the real opposition agrees to take on this role as well. By agreeing to sell some commissions in the name of recognition from the government, the re-founded PD did exactly what it would have done with Kef and Basha. She betrayed the cause of transparency with which she tormented the public for half a year. No cold-minded person can understand today some completely obvious contradictions.

What does the stamp need if he wins it in exchange for silence about Rama's chartered wanderings?

Why is the de facto recognition of the president non grata valid, if it is done to the detriment of transparency for strategic investments?

What is the meaning of the official legalization of the opposition majority, if this majority does not demand an account for the over 100 million flown by Bechetti?

What kind of victory is it to remove a dead horse like Basha from the game, when you make peace with the fact that you will not call Rama, Du?ka, Agron Neza to testify before the deputies?

The opposition calmed down, sat down at the table, stopped the whistles and turned off the firecrackers by getting only two half-assed investigative commissions out of the eight it originally wanted. And this is her biggest sin. Not that once again, as has happened in ten years, he came out with his tail in the saddle from a new pact with Rama, but that in order to simply get what a few people needed, he sacrificed what interested the vast majority of the opposition people: for the seal sold the transparency.
