Honored by the invitation to be present at the celebration of the socialists of Bulqiza – events organized within the framework of the 35th anniversary of the creation of the Socialist Party – I felt obliged to thank all those people with whom we not only founded the Socialist Party, but also made it the leading force of the modernization and Europeanization of Albania.

Time proved us right.

Today, 20 years after the government's massacre, on May 28, 1996, the history of the Socialist Party calls on us not to forget.

I had the great fortune, but also the responsibility, to be the first MP to represent Bulqiza in the Albanian Parliament, as a Socialist Party MP.

Therefore, I am eternally grateful to the people who gave me the trust to be their representative in the highest body of power.

The 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party of Albania is undoubtedly a beautiful celebration.

But this jubilee should also be an important moment of reflection.

We, the founders and leaders of the Socialist Party from its founding until 2005, may have made mistakes, we may not have met all expectations, but we did one thing with great dedication: we defended the honor of the Socialist Party and did not allow its name to face justice.
