It has been 53 years since the famous anti-communist revolt of Spaç took place on May 21, 1973.

Political prisoners, crushed by hard labor, poor conditions, inadequate food, physical and psychological violence, and the directed and controlled destruction of human personality, erupted in an unprecedented mass revolt, which will live long in the collective memory as it brought to its knees and shook the power of Enver Hoxha, the last Stalinist terrorist in post-World War II Europe.

The political prisoners could not accept that the red and black national flag, the flag of Skanderbeg, Ismail Qemali and Isa Boletini, be stained with the star of Bolshevism. In that revolt of world proportions, the symbol of democracy and freedom was thrown for the first time, "We love Albania like all of Europe."

These eagles of freedom raised the national flag without the communist star. For three days, the national flag was flown in Spaç of Mirdita thanks to the superhuman resistance that the eagles of freedom showed in the face of bullets and numerous military forces. These brave Albanians had “Resistance” for weapons, “Will” for bullets, the executioners had weapons, bullets, combat equipment, armed forces to the teeth. For three days, will and resistance triumphed over the weapons and bullets of the communist dictatorship.

For three days the national flag was hoisted in Spaç, Mirdita. After three days of freedom, the anti-communist revolt of Spaç was suppressed with violence and blood by the military troops of a dictatorial state. Its instigators, organizers and main participants were punished with inhuman torture with increasing sentences and re-sentences in the dungeons of the Internal Branch of Rreshen, and the extermination camp, where four of our heroes Hajri Pashai, Dervish Bejko, Pal Zefi, and Skënder Daja were sentenced to death by firing squad. Today these heroes make us proud that they defended the flag, that they were eagles of freedom who faced the suffering, the Stalinist torture, and showed Albania that Freedom is the sanctity of the Fatherland. And the great Albanian poet Haveli, a participant in that revolt, Havzi Nela, would create the poem and memorize this heroic event in verses. "We love Albania as Europe" was repeated in 1990, by the students of December, for four days in a row in the student city, but after four days, the ideologized politicians of communism took over the situation, and formally created political parties as if they were building democracy, as if they were anti-communists, cursing the dictator every hour, and they defended and continue to defend the dictatorship even today, after three decades, without being punished by law. "A democracy without values," I wrote in the Encyclical Centesimus Annus, "can easily turn into an open or hidden totalitarianism, as history shows us. Today, the Albanian political class of the post-90s has failed to build democracy, because it did not break away from the communist ideology. This political class built not a state of law, but a corrupt state. Today, it is the only state in Europe that has no property, Albanians, legal and inherited owners, are without their properties, and the state has no state property of its own, properties in Albania were taken not by force as in the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, but by law 7501 of the SP ePD.

Everything is talked about in Albania, only the dictatorial past is not talked about. Socialist realism films are shown on national TV, artists who despised anti-communists are honored, and they have not taken the time in three decades to apologize for the contempt they showed these anti-communist Albanians who faced the dictatorship and with loss of life! The opposition, which went from being anti-communist in the 90s to 2026, has become a facade for this political power, one of the most corrupt in Europe, led by a majority that fanatically defends the ideology of the dictatorship by denying the rights and freedoms of anti-communists.

Sot nuk flitet për 6000 burra gra fëmijë të pushkatuar dhe që ju ka zhdukur kufomat nga diktatori, as për 36.000 burra dhe gra që provuan burgjet dhe kampet çfarosëse të komunizmit, as për zhdukjen e mijëra institucjoneve fetare, për vrasjen e klerikëve të të gjitha besimeve në Shqipëri. Dhe ka 35 vite që kjo mazhorancë, dhe kjo opozitë nuk ka ndërgjegjësimin të i dënojn këto krime, po vazhdojn propagandën në nderim të diktatorit Hoxha. Ne nuk lejuam hakmarrje individuale, ndaj xhelatëve të komunizmit, por ja kaluam drejtsise ta dënoi krimin enveristë. Ne përçuam paqen politika e majtë përçon urrejtjen. E ashtuquajtura e djathta hesht.

Këtë përvjetor ne po e kremtojnë në një situatë politike të turbullte ndaj të drejtave dhe lirive të shqiptarve. 53 vita Akuzat e diktaturës për Spaçin nuk qëndrojnë, por Partia Socialiste komuniste, dhe Partia demokratike heshtin për Akuzat e Spaçit dhe nuk i nderojnë Pal Zefin, Hajri Pashain, Dervish Bejkon, e trimin 20 vjeçar Skënder Dajën. Por nderojnë marksitë –leninistët e fundit të diktaturës.

Populli shqiptar i Kosovës dhe i viseve të tjera në Ballkan mbas një rezistence gjysëm shekullore ndaj pushtuesve sllavë, luftuan dhe fituan lirinë e tyre, por qarqet anti shqiptare sllave duan ta njëllosin luftën e Ushtrisë çlirimtare të Kosovës me gjygje formale në Hagë. Sot në Hagë nuk dënohen Presidenti Thaçi, As Kryetaret e Kuvendit Krasniqi dhe Veseli, as Komandanti hero Selimi, por duan të dënojnë lirinë e Kosovës, sllavo maqedoncit duan të dënojnë gjuhën shqipe, atë gjuhë më të vjetrën në europë. Koha i zhduki shumë perandori të fuqishme, por kombin shqiptar nuk mundi dhe as nuk do të mundi ta asimiloi. Akuzat nuk qëndrojnë se ata mbrojtën popullin dhe shtetin e tyre. Liria ka një emër në Shqipëri Spaç-në Kosovë UÇK.

Sot, shqiptarët dhe shqiptaret janë të djegun për liri e demokraci. Ata janë të sigurt që, nëse e tashmja ashtë grabitë nga oligarkët e pseudo-politikës në Shqipëri, e ardhmja i takon lirisë dhe demokracisë për të gjithë!

Sot UÇK që mbrojti popullin shqiptar të Kosovës po gjykohet në Hagë. Pse, se mbrojti lirinë, se u mbrojte nga gjenocidi serbe, Europa për tre dekada hesht ndaj genocidit komunist ne Shqipëri, dhe ndaj gjenocidit serbë , në Kosovë. Si mund ti mohojsh një populli nga më të vjetrit në Europë gjuhën shqipe, siç po ndodh në Maqedoninë e Veriut. Çdo shqiptar është i vetditshëm se pa mbrojt demokracinë ne nuk kemi liri!

Today, on this day marked by the 53rd anniversary of Spaç, we honor the 4 heroes of Spaç who gave their lives for the freedom of Albanians and the national flag, and alongside them we defend the brave fighters of the free Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli, and Rexhep Selimi, who are being tried in The Hague without Charges. The charges after 53 years do not stand either in Spaç or in The Hague! Today, on this 53rd anniversary of Spaç and the trial in The Hague, we are reminded of the call of Mother Teresa, who is today Saint Teresa, when in Rinas in 1997 she said:
O God, remove your curse from the Albanian People!
Spaçi is victorious over the dictatorship, in The Hague the Freedom of Kosovo will win!
