Today, on Europe Day
A people can embrace an ideology only when it gives them hope for development and collective security. And today Albania has no ideology closer and more prosperous than Europe.

Societies that move forward are those that know how to adapt to the times and grasp new visions for the future, without ever losing the core of their identity and cultural values. They are societies that know how to reinvent themselves through relationships with others, without dissolving into others. And Europe has precisely this great community of cultures, languages ??and different histories, identities, localities, which has simultaneously made their integration possible but also reinforced the independence of each one of them.

It is a community that at first glance seems to contain a contradiction within itself, but seen in miniature, there can be no greater genius in the history of humanity than the way in which such a collectivity of "different identities" was composed, such a wonderful contract between the different that turns difference into coexistence and history into a common project.

Today, at a time when war and insecurity have returned to the continent, no small state can think that it can face the challenge of the future alone. Outside Europe, our states risk remaining exposed, fragmented economically and politically, they risk remaining half-states, as isolated nuclei in the face of global crises. While Europe remains the space where small states gain weight, security and real opportunities to become whole, that is, the opportunity to find themselves.

But Europe itself must also reinvent itself. It cannot remain an idea closed in on itself. Europe needs to be re-Europeanized, to present itself as a Neo-Europe, through enlargement, through the integration of nations that historically and spiritually belong to it. The integration of Albania is not only our need; it is also a need of Europe itself to renew its political energy.

Therefore, the European path for Albania should not be seen solely as an administrative or political process. It is a civic and historical choice. It is the choice to give this country more security, more justice, more dignity and more opportunities for generations to come.

Europe is a way of thinking about the future. It is the future that our society and state need to grasp.
