 A 60-year-old woman is murdered in Kosovo/ The suspected perpetrator is her son

A murder occurred in the early hours of today in Dragash, Kosovo. According to a police report, a 30-year-old man is suspected of killing his 60-year-old mother.

According to preliminary information, the suspected perpetrator had mental health problems. He has been arrested by the police, while the vehicle with which he is suspected of committing the crime has not yet been found. The police are working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Police announcement:

On 21.01.2025, at around 01:06, the Police were notified of a suspicious death in the village of Restelicë, Dragash Municipality. According to initial information, it is suspected that a male person, around 30 years old, has deprived his mother, around 60 years old, of her life. The suspect, according to preliminary data, had mental health problems.

From the initial examination at the scene, the vehicle with which the crime was allegedly committed was not observed, while the victim suffered several injuries to the head region.

The suspect has been arrested by the Police and detained for further legal proceedings. The Regional Investigation Sector, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, is undertaking all necessary investigative actions in order to fully clarify the circumstances of this case. /CNA
