Powerful winter storm in the US / 30 deaths, power and flight problems recorded

At least 30 people have died in the US as a massive winter storm continues to sweep across large parts of the country, bringing heavy snow, rain, freezing temperatures, and severe infrastructure and transportation disruptions.

Victims include tragic cases such as people hit by snowplows, teenagers who lost their lives in sledding accidents, and a woman who was found frozen after leaving a bar.

The storm has also brought other problems, as more than a million residents were left without electricity due to damage to power lines caused by ice and heavy snow. This situation has mainly affected the southern and southeastern parts of the country.

Many regional authorities have declared a state of emergency to coordinate relief and power restoration efforts.

Major transportation hubs such as New York, Chicago and Washington DC experienced serious disruptions to air services.
