President Putin's proposal/US rejects idea of ​​interim administration

The White House has rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin's suggestion for an interim administration in Kiev, while also demanding comprehensive access to Ukraine's minerals and energy goods.

The Russian president said Volodymyr Zelensky's government must be replaced to pave the way for a peace deal during a visit to a Russian nuclear submarine base, before Moscow launched a drone attack on Ukraine overnight.

A White House National Security Council spokesman rejected the Kremlin leader's request and said that governance in Ukraine is determined by its constitution and the people of the country.

The Trump administration is pushing toward signing a major new resource deal with Kiev that would give the U.S. control over all of Ukraine's energy assets and rare minerals.
