The Prime Minister's Office admits that Kurti fell prey to the deception of

Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, had fallen prey to a video call from two Russian comedians shortly after the February 9 parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

Two Russian comedians, Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus, published a video of a conversation with Prime Minister Albin Kurti on the Rumble platform, claiming to be speaking on behalf of the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics.

In a statement on X, Kosovo Government spokesperson, Përparim Kryeziu, said that "this incident" occurred on February 11, two days after the elections in Kosovo.

He justified the prime minister's fall victim to fraud by saying that during that time, Kurti was receiving numerous congratulatory calls, after his party, the Vetevendosje Movement, came first in the elections with around 42 percent of the vote.

"Due to limited time, it has not always been possible to conduct in-depth verifications of every call," Kryeziu said.

The pair have previously embarrassed several European politicians, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish President Andrzej Duda, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Montenegrin Prime Ministers Duško Markovi? and Milo ?ukanovi?, former North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, as well as well-known figures such as Elton John and Prince Harry, through similar calls.

In the video, Kurti accepts the congratulations of two Russian comedians pretending to speak on behalf of President Rinkevich and speaks with them about a number of issues, including the elections, the dialogue with Serbia, Trump's envoy for special missions, Richard Grenell, hybrid warfare, and other issues.

The publication of this video has sparked many reactions in the country./ REL
