Earthquake in Myanmar/ Reported casualties and missing

A rescue team in Myanmar has said that the death toll from today's earthquake is not yet known, but is at least in the hundreds. The information was shared by the well-known media outlet BBC.

The 7.7-magnitude earthquake, which the U.S. Geological Survey says had an epicenter in central Myanmar, was felt in neighboring countries, including Thailand where an unfinished building collapsed.

81 construction workers are missing, Thai deputy prime minister says, and a search and rescue operation is underway in the area.

Dramatic images show damaged buildings in Myanmar and a swimming pool on the top floor of a building in Bangkok spilling over the sides of a swaying building.

The effects of this 7.7 magnitude earthquake in the city of Mandalay, 21 km away from the epicenter of the earthquake, are starting to be seen.
