Fifteen years since the International Court of Justice's decision on

Today marks fifteen years since the International Court of Justice in The Hague announced its advisory ruling, according to which the Declaration of Independence of Kosovo did not violate international law.

With ten votes in favor and four against, the members of the International Court of Justice in The Hague on July 22, 2010 ruled in favor of Kosovo, thus rejecting Serbia's claim for violation of international law.

The decision was read by the president of the International Court of Justice at the time, Hiasashio Owada.

Kosovo declared independence on February 17, 2008, and so far the country has been recognized by 119 countries around the world.
