Temperatures up to 48.8 degrees/ A new heat wave hits Italy

A new heat wave is hitting Italy. The hottest day is expected to be Tuesday, with temperatures in Sicily set to break the 2001 record of 48.8 degrees Celsius.

If it happens, it will not only be an Italian record, but also a European one.

In Sardinia, the day after tomorrow the thermometer is also expected to reach 45 degrees. The competent services have asked residents to avoid traveling during the hottest hours of the day.

Another area that will be affected by the heat wave is Puglia, with its capital Bari, as well as a large part of central Italy.

Meteorologists predict that the extreme heat will begin to subside from Thursday evening. In northern Italy, on the contrary, heavy rain is expected tomorrow, which will continue in the following days./CNA
