More than 128,000 people have been displaced in a week due to intercommunal clashes that erupted in the Druze stronghold of southern Syria, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said today.
"To date, a total of 128,571 people have been displaced since the start of hostilities," the IOM said.
The data was published in a report, noting that displacements from Sweida province increased significantly on July 19, with more than 43,000 people displaced in a single day.
Clashes in southern Syria have killed more than 1,000 people in a week, according to a new report from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to the Observatory, the latest count from last Sunday includes 336 Druze fighters and 298 Druze civilians, of whom 194 were immediately executed by members of the forces under the Ministries of Defense and Interior. /CNA
