Netanyahu suffers food poisoning/ What is known about the Israeli Prime Minister's health

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has suffered food poisoning and will rest at home for the next three days, his press office announced today.

The 75-year-old leader fell ill overnight and was diagnosed with intestinal inflammation and dehydration, requiring intravenous fluids.

Netanyahu will continue to perform his duties remotely while he follows doctors' orders to recover.

"In accordance with the instructions of his doctors, the prime minister will rest at home for the next three days and will manage state affairs from there," his office said.

The Israeli leader has faced previous health challenges, including a pacemaker implantation in 2023 and prostate removal last December after a diagnosis of a urinary tract infection.

His office assured the public that his current condition is being closely monitored. /CNA
