Russia launches 300 drones towards Ukraine/ The port city of Odessa near the Black Sea is shot down

Russia launched more than 300 drones and over 30 missiles towards various cities in Ukraine, killing at least one person and wounding several others, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

"Rescue operations are underway after the attack: Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Sumy, Kherson, Volyn, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odessa and Zhytomyr regions were affected," Zelesnky wrote on 'X'.

The Black Sea port city of Odessa was hit by 20 drones and a missile, the city's mayor Hennadii Trukhanov said on Telegram on Saturday.

The attack set off a fire in an apartment block. Five people were rescued from their burning apartments, including a woman who died after being rescued. At least six others, including a child, were injured.

Meanwhile, in Sumy, critical infrastructure was damaged and thousands of families were left without electricity. /CNA
