Serious incident in Turkey/ 33-year-old man kills seven people and then himself

A horrific shooting attack in Istanbul left seven dead. The author, 33 years old, allegedly killed his parents, sister, cousin and 3 other people before committing suicide.

Turkish media reports that after a fight, the 33-year-old man shot his father, mother and sister.

The author's father was found dead at the scene, while the mother and sister were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, but they did not survive the injuries and died.

The unusual event continues even further, where the perpetrator, under still unclear circumstances, shot dead a passerby.

Before committing suicide, the author also shot his 33-year-old cousin.

Authorities later confirmed that three more victims had been found near Büyükçekmece Lake, where the perpetrator's wife, his 10-year-old child, and his mother-in-law had been killed. Their bodies were found in the Tepekent area.

The Istanbul Governor's Office revealed that the perpetrator had a criminal history, including charges related to drug use.

A firearm and nine spent cartridges were found in his vehicle. The authorities are continuing the investigation into this serious event, Turkish media reports. /CNA
