In time of war/ Russia launches nuclear submarine 'Khabarovsk'

Russia launched a new nuclear submarine called the Khabarovsk into the sea this weekend. The launch took place in the port city of Severodvinsk, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry.

A launching ceremony for the nuclear submarine was held at the JSC Sevmash Production Association, a major Russian shipbuilding enterprise.

 "I would like to thank everyone involved in the creation of the submarine for their conscientious and high-quality work. The ship still needs to undergo a series of sea trials. I wish the crew and the commissioning team success in carrying them out," Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said at the ceremony.

The submarine, equipped with underwater weapons and robotic systems, has the following capacities: length 113 meters, width 10 meters, displacement 10,000 tons, underwater speed up to 30-32 knots, operating depth up to 500 meters.

This submarine has a crew capacity of 100 sailors and a mission duration of 90 to 120 days. /CNA
