Terror in Vorizia, Crete/ Village schools suspend classes for two days

Schools in the village of Vorizia in Crete have suspended classes for two consecutive days, specifically November 3 and 4. According to Greek media reports, the decision was made for the safety of students and teaching staff.

We recall that at least two people have died and 6 others have been injured, following massive gunfire that resulted from a conflict between two families who were in a blood feud.

More specifically, referring to the Greek media, Fanourios Kargakis, met at the entrance to the village with a man from another family and his cousin. The first man lost his life in the shooting and the other two were injured, while they are expected to be arrested.

A 57-year-old woman, who was a member of the second family, also died after suffering a heart attack. Four other people were injured in the shooting, while one of the injured is not related to the families.

Police forces have cordoned off the village while investigative groups are working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident. According to initial information, there were three perpetrators of the shooting. /CNA
