Rule of Law Index 2025/ Kurti: Kosovo is among the few countries in the world

The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has announced that Kosovo has improved its rule of law score according to the World Justice Project's Rule of Law Index 2025.

Kurti states that Kosovo is ranked third in the region, among 15 countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and 2nd among six countries in the Western Balkans.

Among the Western Balkan countries, Kosovo leads in four key areas: Constraints on Government Power, Order and Security, Absence of Corruption, and Open Governance. The Prime Minister emphasizes that they remain committed to doing more in strengthening the justice sector, according to him one of our main priorities for the next mandate.

Full post:

When most of the world faces a decline in the rule of law, Kosovo continues to be among the few countries to record an improvement in its rule of law score in the World Justice Project's Rule of Law Index 2025.

This year, our country ranks 3rd in the region, among 15 countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia; and 2nd among the six countries in the Western Balkans (WB6), thus highlighting our steady progress over the last five years.

Among the BP6, Kosovo leads in four key areas:

Limitations on Government Power

Order and Security

Lack of Corruption

Open Government

The results show us that we are moving in the right direction - as we remain committed to doing more, especially in strengthening our justice sector, as one of our top priorities for the next mandate. /CNA
