Spectacular Louvre robbery/ 5 more people arrested

New arrests have been made in connection with the robbery of the Louvre museum. Five people suspected of involvement have been arrested, but their identities and roles in the robbery are still unknown. The news was reported by French radio station RTL. Two people arrested over the weekend are currently in custody, having partially admitted their involvement in the robbery.

The seven-minute robbery at the Louvre's Apollo Gallery captured the world's attention after thieves made off with 88 million euros ($102 million) worth of jewelry. The thieves raided the Apollo Gallery on the top floor of the Louvre, which houses the French Crown Jewels, on the morning of October 19.

More than 100 investigators have been involved in the search for the individuals, and authorities have managed to track down the individuals after analyzing more than 150 DNA samples and examining several items the group left behind, such as gloves, a helmet and high-visibility jackets left at the scene. /CNA
