Floods in Vietnam/ 13 people die, 11 reported missing

The death toll from devastating floods in Vietnam has risen to 13, according to a new report from authorities, who said 11 people were missing.

Torrential rains have inundated large parts of central Vietnam, including the historic cities of Hue and Hoi An, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

More than 116,000 homes and 50,000 hectares of crops have been inundated by the waters, which have caused extensive damage to the road and rail network, as well as power outages, according to the disaster management agency.

Meteorologists warn that heavy rainfall will continue until late Saturday. /CNA
