Moscow continues attacks on Ukraine/ Kiev claims to have hit a Russian oil

Russian attacks on Ukraine continued overnight, killing at least four people and wounding dozens more, Kiev said on November 1.

Meanwhile, Ukraine claims to have hit a major oil production pipeline near Moscow.

Ukrainian regional officials reported that more than 40 people, including children, have been injured in Russian attacks targeting the Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk and Kherson regions over the past 24 hours.

The attacks also damaged residential buildings and disrupted services, local authorities said.

A Russian ballistic missile attack on Mykolaiv killed one person and wounded 15 others, including a child, on the morning of November 1, said Vitaliy Kim, head of the regional military administration. Kim added that the attack damaged a gas station and several vehicles.

Russian shelling over the past 24 hours killed two people and wounded 22 others in the Kherson region, the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said on November 1.

He added that 26 villages across the province were hit by the latest Russian attacks.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, one person was killed and two others were injured by Russian attacks, regional authorities said.

An elderly woman was injured by Russian drone strikes in the Chernihiv region, the head of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported on Telegram.

According to Chaus, Russian troops also struck the historic city of Novhorod-Siverski, damaging administrative buildings, shops, a pharmacy and a cafe in the city center.

Ukraine claims it hit key pipeline

Meanwhile, Ukraine's military agency claimed to have hit an oil products pipeline in the Ramenskoye district of the Moscow region on October 31, adding that the attack caused explosions and halted operations at the site.

The attack destroyed pipelines transporting gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel for the Russian military, the military intelligence agency, HUR, said on Telegram.

This claim could not be independently verified and Russian authorities have not publicly confirmed it.

Russia's Defense Ministry said on November 1 that air defenses had shot down 98 Ukrainian drones overnight, adding that 11 of them were destroyed over the Moscow region.

Kiev has repeatedly targeted Russian oil refineries in recent months, increasing pressure on both Russia's military capabilities and its economy in general.

In another development, Ukrainian military intelligence reported that a covert operation by its special forces is still underway near Pokrovsk, where Moscow forces claim to have repelled an attack.

According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Ukrainian Service, the Russian statement about repelling the attack was described by Kiev as a Russian provocation.

The situation inside Pokrovsk is described by Ukrainian troops as deteriorating. Estimates suggest that between 200 and 400 Russian soldiers are now inside the eastern neighborhoods of the city, using urban terrain, basements and civilian clothing to avoid being noticed by the Ukrainian military.

Since mid-summer, the city on the frontline in eastern Ukraine has become an increasingly critical battleground. Russian forces have been slowly advancing on the eastern and southern edges, seizing key roads and blocking supply lines into the city.

Analysts warn that if Pokrovsk falls, it would open the way west to the Dnipropetrovsk region and further endanger Ukraine's southern front. /REL
