The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that there are no Kosovar citizens

The Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora announced on Monday that hundreds of Kosovo citizens are in several Middle Eastern countries, but none of them have been affected by the fighting in recent days.

In a Facebook post, the Ministry said that 21 Kosovo citizens are in Israel, 331 in Saudi Arabia, around 400 resident citizens and 70 tourists reported so far in the United Arab Emirates, 75 citizens in Qatar, approximately 60 citizens in Kuwait, 4 citizens in Bahrain and 2 citizens in Oman.

“According to information from our diplomatic missions, all our citizens are currently in good health,” the announcement said.

The United States and Israel launched a major operation in Iran on February 28, attacking military and clerical regime targets.

US President Donald Trump has said the aim of the operation, codenamed Epic Fury, is to "ensure that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon."

Following the weekend's major bombings, which also killed Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Tehran launched retaliatory attacks on Israel and several countries in the Middle East that host US military bases, including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

This is the third day of fighting that does not seem to be stopping anytime soon.

The MFA called on Kosovo citizens in these countries to remain calm and strictly follow the instructions of local authorities, to avoid unnecessary movements until further notice and to stay in regular contact with Kosovo's diplomatic missions.

The ministry also posted the contacts where Kosovars can call for any urgent needs./REL
