The Special Prosecutor's Office in Montenegro filed an indictment on Wednesday against police officer Zoran Gashovic, "for war crimes against humanity", committed in 1992 in the area of ??Hajjic in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"As a member of the Bosnian Serb civil police, Gashovic has participated in murder, forced displacement, torture, persecution on religious and ethnic grounds, illegal imprisonment of persons and other similar inhumane acts," announced the special prosecutor, Vukash. Radonjic.

The area of ??Haxhic was part of the municipality of Sarajevo, where during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina it was under the control of the army of the Republika Srpska. Many of its inhabitants were driven out, killed or disappeared. Two mass graves were also found, which are supposed to hide the corpses of the citizens of this settlement.

The crimes in the area of ??Haxhic during 1992 are also mentioned in the judgments of The Hague against the former leaders of the Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadzic and Momcilo Krajishnik.

Karadzic was sentenced to life imprisonment, while Krajisnik was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The war crimes committed in Hajjici are commemorated every year in front of the monument, where more than 500 citizens of this area were imprisoned and killed during the aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the years 1992-1995./ VOA
