Montenegro is close to a decision to adopt a seven-hour workday

Montenegro is close to a decision to adopt a seven-hour workday, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic confirmed.

"After an extensive review of how to find a model that would satisfy both unions and employers, we can conclude that we are close to a solution for introducing a seven-hour working day," Spajic said.

The Montenegrin Prime Minister said that at the beginning of next week, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Naida Nisic, will hold talks within the framework of social dialogue with representatives of trade unions and employers, where, as she emphasized, the final version of this reform will be crystallized.

As indicated, the goal of this initiative is to implement one of the largest reforms in the field of labor through broad consultations, which aims to improve the quality of life of citizens and more time for families, as well as more efficient and productive work.

The Montenegrin government announced earlier that, in line with pre-election promises, it plans to introduce a seven-hour working day in the private and public sectors. /CNA
