Kidnapping of businessman's son/Chronology of the event

In Athens, the son of a well-known businessman was violently kidnapped by four men. Among the hostage-takers was the famous rapper Ivan Greko.

The four perpetrators, who kidnapped and tortured the 24-year-old man, extorting a large sum of money from him, were arrested by officers of the Directorate Against Organized Crime, following an operation carried out in three different locations in Athens.

They face criminal charges for 11 criminal offenses: Kidnapping in collaboration with the intent to force the victim or others to perform acts, omissions or tolerances for which they are not obligated, Extortion related to robbery in collaboration, Participation in a criminal organization, Dangerous bodily harm, Robbery, Forgery, Illegal possession of fireworks, Illegal possession of weapons, Use of weapons, Disobedience, Violence against public officials .

But what was the chronology of the 24-year-old's kidnapping?

According to information, in the early morning hours of May 6, in the Hymettus area, three of the five perpetrators used physical violence and a sharp object to hit the victim in the lower limbs and threatened the life of the businessman's son, who is also involved in the family business.

During the incident, after putting the victim in a vehicle, they demanded 25,000 euros and a BMW motorcycle of at least the same value. They repeatedly beat him with their hands and with a sharp object all over his body.

In Saronida, where the three attackers met the fourth member (who was on a motorbike), the threats escalated, now including the use of a firearm, on a beach in the area.

After five hours, the young man was forced to call his friends to collect the demanded amount. The ruthless perpetrators even tried to cut off his fingers with a cutter, but failed due to his strong resistance.

The attackers then traveled with the victim to Glyfada to collect part of the ransom. During the trip, the victim managed to escape and alerted a friend.

Constant online threats

By that time, the perpetrators had already stolen the car keys, a wireless charger, 740 euros in cash and a luxury signature watch worth between 20,000 and 29,000 euros. The harassment continued in the following days through messages and videos sent via online applications.

On the evening of May 22, police teams deployed to various parts of Attica, found all members of the criminal group, arrested them and escorted them into custody./ CNA
