Kosovo Assembly attempts constitution for the 21st time

The MPs who emerged from the February 9 elections in Kosovo will attempt today for the 21st time to constitute the Assembly.

So far, MPs have only passed two items on the agenda of the constitutive session: the report of the Temporary Committee for the Verification of Mandates and the oath of MPs.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Assembly has not yet been elected.

The Vetëvendosje Movement, which also won the majority in the elections, continues to propose the name of Albuulena Haxhiu for parliamentary speaker, but so far has not been able to secure the necessary 61 votes.

After several failed sessions, the chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, proposed a secret ballot.
